Al Charles has been a Franklin resident since 2009. He has been married since 2008 and has two children in Franklin Public Schools; Annie Sullivan Middle School & Helen Keller Elementary School. Al has spent the majority of his career in various roles in the Telecommunications industry since 2003.

Al has been serving on the Franklin School Committee since November 2021. He has been actively supporting Franklin Public Schools and the Franklin community before becoming a member of the Franklin School Committee. Al served as Chair of multiple subcommittees of the Helen Keller Parent Communication Council (PCC) since 2020. Al currently volunteers as a Franklin Youth Soccer coach and has coached youth Basketball and Baseball teams.

In his downtime, Al enjoys spending his time with his family, traveling, and watching the Celtics.

As a School Committee member, Al has spent his time keeping the community engaged & informed about the actions taken by the School Committee and advocating for the Franklin Public School Students. Al has served as a member and chair on multiple School Committee subcommittees.
