Al Charles has been a Franklin resident since 2009. He and his spouse have been married since 2008 and have two children currently attending Franklin Public Schools; one at Franklin High School and the other at Franklin Middle School. Al has worked in the telecommunications industry since 2003, serving in a variety of roles throughout his career.
In his free time, Al enjoys traveling, watching the Celtics, and spending time with his family.
Al was elected to the Franklin School Committee in November 2021 and has been a strong advocate for students, educators, and families. Even before joining the committee, he was an active volunteer in the district. Serving as Chair of multiple subcommittees of the Helen Keller Parent Communication Council (PCC), supporting the Franklin Middle School PCC, and coaching soccer, basketball, and baseball.
As a School Committee member, Al has prioritized transparency and communication. He regularly engages with the community to keep residents informed about School Committee actions and has served as a member and chair of several School Committee subcommittees.
