2023 - 2025

Al served on multiple subcommittees during the 2023 – 2025 term.

School Committee Subcommittee Roles:

• Chair of Community Relations/Public Schools Advocacy Subcommittee (2 years)

• Member of the Joint Parent Communication Council (PCC) Liaison (2 years)

Here are some of the key items accomplished during the 2023 - 2025 term:

• Represented the Franklin School Committee at  the 2023 & 2024 MASC/MASS Conference (3 day conference)

• Led the creation of the monthly Franklin School Committee Newsletter and ensured consistent monthly publications

• Supported the hiring of the Interim School Business Administrator and her elevation to the permnanent School Business Administrator

• Organized the 2025 Legislative Forum

• Advocated for Redistricting / reorganization

• Strongly advocated for the 2024 & 2025 overrides

• Approved the six year extension of Superintendent Giguere

A bonus of the role was that Al was there to recognize and celebrate student successes. This included some of the following proud accomplishments.

• 2025 Boys basketball MIAA D1 Championship

• FHS Cheerleaders 

• MICCA gold & silver medals 

• MMEA All-State Concert

• FHS students achieving Seal of Bi-literacy

• FHSTC METG successes

• Graduation of the class of 2024 & 2025

• Send off to educators and staff retiring in 2024 & 2025

In addition to celebrating successes, Al supported the district in sponsoring educational trips abroad and to other states.

• Approved numerous travel abroad trips; Spain, Belize, Italy, Costa Rica, Greece, Vietnam, Cambodia, & Thailand

• Approved the 2024 annual middle school trip to the Grand Canyon

• Cross-state trips for competitions
